Saint Gilbert and his mother

The life of St. Gilbert is strongly marked by the presence of his mother. Although we did not remember his name, and this is the least important, we know that it was very important in his life and vocation. It tells the account of the life of our saint that his mother dreamed before his birth, "in that the moon came from heaven and rested on her belly."

This was taken as a sign that only the crescent moon, incomplete and curved develops until it forms a complete and brilliant globe, thus, Gilbert was destined to transform himself into someone special with a bright future.

His mother encouraged him in his decision to go to France to study and it was after his return home that her dream began to come true in the life of St. Gilbert. That boy was made a great man and a great man. His whole life will be strongly marked by the presence of his mother, a saxan of little influence in the society of his time, but who for God is far above any and all human convenience.

            His mother's prophecy is fulfilled in his life. And it was she who despite all the physical difficulties of Gilberto believed and motivated him in his vocation. His presence was fundamental to his human development, Christian and, above all, to holiness, for he learned from pain to be more in conformity with the Father's love.
