Prayer to Saint Gilbert for rest

O glorious Saint Gilbert of Sempringham, you who were always faithful to the grace of God in your life and corresponded to the saving plans of his son Jesus Christ, in your goodness and mercy we implore you the joy of a good rest in the dark night of our soul , so often marked by the most terrible astonishment of our preoccupations that prevent us from perceiving all the tenderness of God who is our Father; so we implore your intercession with the Lord so that our rest may be tranquil and that the rest we seek rests in our strength so that we can give a better testimony of Jesus Christ in our lives.Help us to always wish to fulfill in our lives the holy designs of our Redeemer so that, strengthened by your grace, we may be more and more heralds of your power in behalf of all men. Grant us that when we rest, we can always make a sincere examination of our actions, our words and, above all, the way we live our day and our lives to always make the decision to continually seek our conversion to follow Christ closer.Help us through your intercession that the night of our rest is always an invitation to a new life on our way with the Father.
