Saint Gilbert: a man of faith and prayer

       

         There is a story about Saint Gilbert that during his stay in the house of the order in London during the visits performed in their communities, a fire destroyed the house where he and his priests were. The first alarm was all a huge mess and those who lived in the house, including the brothers fled the horror of the fire.

         They begged to Saint Gilbert follow them, but apparently they did not stay to see even if his advice were followed, or to help your spiritual father on the trail.

         Not looking at the crowd, they then returned and found him in his room silently in prayer, kneeling. The flames had devoured all around the building and part of the house in which it appeared he had been stayed intact.
